If you’re a fashion-forward female who loves self-expression through exclusive clothing, chances are, you love boutiques. Let’s face it though: we’re all busy and it can be difficult to get out and shop, especially if you have young children. Eliminating the hassles of waiting in checkout lines, trying things on, and even leaving our houses through online shopping can be a major convenience factor! This past June, boutique owner Whitney Johns has made it super easy for women and momma bears to shop for trendy and affordable clothing and accessories for themselves and their little girls. Introducing her brand new online boutique, Cupcakes and Cheer!
KA – Tell me a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to open your boutique.
WJ – My name is Whitney and I’m married to my husband, Jason, who is a high school football coach. I have two girls; Morgan is 10 and Kennedy is 6. I have spent the last 14 years working in the education field, four years as a teacher and the last nine years as a school counselor. We moved to the town we live in currently two years ago. I accepted a part time job in my children’s school district so I could work in the same school district that they attend. Financially, I needed to work full time, and after having a hard time finding a school counseling job in our school district, I went out on a limb and started Cupcakes and Cheer. It took a huge leap of faith but it has been one of the best things I’ve done. It has been a ton of hard work and many late nights, but the rewards outweigh all the trials.
KA – Can you describe Cupcakes and Cheer’s unique personality?
WJ – Cupcakes and Cheer has cute, trendy, and fun clothing. I want fashion, dressing yourself, and dressing your kids to be fun and not cost an arm and a leg! I love dressing my kids up, but I don’t like the cost of some of those cute outfits that they may only wear once. I strive to provide exceptional customer service and make each of my customers feel important! I also offer free shipping on all U.S. orders and give a 10% off discount to local customers who pick up their items. I strive to have the cutest outfits available, at prices everyone can afford. After all, having on a new and fun outfit can make us feel like a million bucks!
KA – What is your favorite part about owning your boutique?
WJ – I love the flexibility it gives. Since my boutique is online only, I work from home. I can do a load of laundry in between shipping orders! I’ve always worked full time so being able to pick up my children from school is something I love. I also love being able to shop for less. I’m a fashion and clothes addict, both for myself and my children. I love wearing new clothes and I love dressing my girls up. This is the perfect job for me!
To browse Cupcakes and Cheer’s seriously cute and colorful selection and experience their fabulous customer service, head over to their website! I’m personally in love with their flowy cardigans, dresses, printed leggings, and holiday outfits for the little ones. Also, if you see anything you like on their Facebook or Instagram, you can comment with a size and email address to receive an invoice and get your order on its way! It doesn’t get much simpler than that! Here’s to shopping made easy and of course, cheerful!
