Nationally-acclaimed Jewelry Designer and founder of Vienna Victoria, Satin Van Cleef, explains she fills each one-of-a kind accessory with not only lipstick, but also inspiration. Vienna Victoria, recently applauded by Heiress Jaimie Hilfiger, is a brand designed to empower women by merging both fashion and function.
Going beyond merely designing jewelry, Satin finds her creative inspiration and motive through the love she has for her daughters, Vienna (6) and Victoria (5).
Following her own dreams, Van Cleef prioritizes being a professional role model first and foremost to set a positive example for her girls. For national Take Your Daughter to Work Day on April 25th, bringing her daughters along to the Swarovski design center in New York was just the start of her mission. In hopes of exampling not only to her own daughters, but all little girls with dreams to capture their passions, Satin aspires to emphasize how important a parent’s encouragement in creative aspirations can be.
Van Cleef appreciates the motivation and encouragement she recalls gaining years ago from the experience of going to work with her grandmother, Madeline Hoffmann, at Schering Plough. Now that Satin is grown up, she wants to bestow the same gift from the role models before her to all children and women in how they approach careers. She explains, “Encouraging your child’s dreams should occur not only on Take Your Daughter to Work Day, but every day. Our daughters look to us each and every day for example, support and guidance.”
When asked their favorite thing about their mom, Satin’s eldest Vienna replies “Her shoes, we love going into her closet and wearing her heels,” while the youngest Victoria sweetly responded, “Her jewelry because she lets us help her pick the colors.” While, it seems we may have some future fashion designers in the works, Van Cleef says she is more focused on supporting the path they choose, whatever it may be. Mrs. Van Cleef wants to recognize Take Your Daughter to Work Day as an opportunity to inspire all women to follow their dreams and passion while encouraging their daughters to do the same.
