I kicked off my NYFW week in a fabulous way- with a visit to TechStyle NYC! TechStyle NYC was an interactive expo set up at the trendy House of Bumble (Bumble and Bumble headquarters) in the stylish meatpacking district. As perfectly described by NYU Local, TechStyle “showed NYFW influencers and participants how tech can connect us to our most crucial beauty and fashion needs.” This innovative event was truly an oasis from the below freezing temps, as fashionistas and industry insiders bustled around socializing and checking out different booths.
First I headed over to the Stylinity booth. Stylinity is an amazing social commerce app, in which fashionable users can snap selfies, tag their clothing and accessories, and users can instantly buy items they like with a click! Plus, you can earn rewards for every purchase others make, or when you make a purchase :). I love this app and I seriously can’t wait to start using it!
Next I looked at stunning jewelry designs by Meredith Marks. I think I may have just found a new favorite jewelry brand! Her designs are very elegant with an edge, incorporating silver and gold and pristine gemstones cut just right. It’s no surprise that her jewelry has graced celebrities like Julianne Moore and Charlize Theron.
Other notable brands were T.Tandon‘s eco- and socially- responsible designs and Of Mercer with apparel for “desk-to-anything”. Also stylishly on the scene was Elena Murzello with her non-fiction book filled with relationship advice, The Love List: A Guide to Getting Who You Want (cannot wait to dig into this one!). Elena even shared with us how your are SUPPOSED to handle run ins with your ex!
Reddera, a new on-demand beauty app, offered hair styling and manicures, while guests sipped on Arizona Tea’ Skinnygirl Sparklers, the newest product from Bethenny Frankel’s beverage brand (Yum! I fell in love with coconut-pineapple flavor).
In addition to fashion, beauty, and technology, TechStyle also incorporated fitness into this season’s lineup. Paleo Passion Pops and SexyPop Popcorn offered healthier snacking options, while NamaSTAY Yoga Towels introduced guests to their patented yoga towels that attach to mats eliminated the distraction of a bunching, sliding towel during practice.
TechStyle NYC was a major success- I was introduced to some great brands and met the lovely people behind them! I can’t think of a better way to have warmed up from a freezing winter day in the city. Allongé Magazine is anxiously awaiting to attend TechStyle NYC again in September!
