You want a lasting business. A business where you can enjoy not only the wealth but, the freedom, lifestyle and security it will provide you. But what happens when you cripple your own success?
What? I would never do that!
Not intentionally, I know, but the moment you stop treating yourself as your biggest client, is the moment you fail the success of your business.
Wait. What do you mean? I can fail my own business..?
Let me show you the 3 things you need to do today to guarantee continued business success.
Trust Your Gut
It’s true – your gut is always right! You know the women intuition, the mommy intuition, the feeling you get when you probably shouldn’t do something but, you insist on doing it. Then, you feel a load of regret, doubt, and uncertainty. No one has time for that. Am I right?
Your gut knows when you have been overworked. Recognize when it is speaking to you, listen to what it’s saying and do it. Super simple. The hardest part is getting over yourself.

Pay Yourself
By far one of my biggest mistakes with my first business. Whether you spend $50 on a fancy meal at your favorite restaurant or $100 on a spa treatment, you deserve a reward. No matter if it is big or small, reward the efforts you spend in your business. All the late nights, cries of frustration, lonely days of giving up – you have made it this far and you deserve a reward.
Celebrate the small successes. A night of happy hour may be all it takes or a week of the fanciest lattes you can find, rejoice!
Not only does this make you feel good but, this also starts to begin to renew you. Gives you a new strength and sets you up for a new state of mind so, you are pumped for the next reward to come.
Start thinking of ways you can spend a little to make time for yourself and reward your hard work. Start with a once a month routine. Maybe $50 is steep so, do a $20 pedicure. Whatever it takes to refuel you for the next month, do it.

Take Yourself Through Your Client Process
Can you improve? What can make it more personable? Can you streamline it to create a consistent experience? What can make your client feel like they have been WOW’d by your service or product?
Go through each step and take note of how you are feeling, what your thoughts are, if everything is thoroughly explained, if the process is simple and effective. Take all of your notes and go back and rework your process. Add some ways you can be remarkable to your clients and always over deliver even if it is a small gesture.
For example, a follow up a month later to check on their progress and if they need any further service, a “Thank You” card in the mail, if they mentioned a special occasion, upcoming event or something they’ve been working on and will soon launch, check in with them on their achievements and send a “Congratulatory” card.
They might have forgotten about you up until your point of follow up. This is your chance to show them how interested you are beyond your service or product, WOW them and open up the opportunity to work together a second time.
And if you haven’t already, now is a great time to create your client process flow. From first contact through follow up, what are the steps in between and how are you executing them. This gives you a glimpse of what’s going on from your client’s perspective and it’ll make you enjoy the process you are taking your clients on.
