Seriously, I’d say about 80% of the time, I have no idea what I’m doing. And if I had to take a guess, I don’t think most people do. Most go-getters thrive off of diving into the unknown, pushing past comfort zones, and trying new things. The problem is, we only show our final projects and polished skill sets to the public. When we see those who inspire us constantly posting top notch content and displaying new skill after new skill that they’ve acquired without knowing what it took for them to get there, we question our own worth and abilities. When in fact, new strengths and skills can only ever be built out of some sort of struggle.
One new skill Shaun and I want to acquire is producing quality video content. He’s dabbled in this area a bit with his music (if you want to see some sexy videos of him singing and guitaring, click here), but other than the previous vlog videos I’ve done and my Facebook Lives, video is so foreign (and scary) to me. Rather than hide away the struggle of learning this new territory, I want to show you our journey in progress. To start, we’ve created a little something on why we’re getting into video and used a few clips we took on our recent Hershey getaway to play around with video content.
It’s not the highest quality, sometimes we cut off each other’s heads (it’s really freaking hard to hold a camera), the lighting could probably be better, there’s noisy cars driving by in the background, and the list of imperfections could go on and on. But, you know what? That’s okay with me, because this is new to us. We’re learning. We’re a work in progress.
