Noon by Noor runway show this season was a dreamy fall/winter showcase. Bahraini designers Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Haya Mohammed Al Khalifa used hot pink as a jumping-off point in the collection. Working the color into several looks created an eccentric world on the runway. Additional noteworthy details that brought this collection to life were atomic yellow pieces and a sweater with Arabic script quoting, “to the moon and back”.
Gold embroidered feathers were a tribute to the national bird of Bahrain, the Bulbul. The imagery at this show was all about the golden feather! From this feather element, a story emerged. Gold speckled fabrics to bold golden stripes on dresses and tops. The designers described the fit of the long dresses as “manish tailoring,” having wide shoulders and oversized fits. These styles were paired with delicate golden belts that completed the looks and connected back to a whimsical element of the feather.
The dominating colors for fall in this collection were black, red, hot pink, and bit of navy. Suit silhouettes designed on delicate fabrics created a harmonizing balance between softness and strength. Noon by Noor showcases the versatility of separates by matching fabrics to create cohesive outfits. Pairing the chiffon slips that have fluid silhouettes with oversized wool jackets achieves a unique balance within the looks.
Overall, the designers created a realistic and everyday woman collection. I could see myself in the trousers and the coats walking through the city. The simplistic yet diverse style of Noon by Noor’s pieces captivated my imagination with a cool city style vibe. The show gave me so much inspiration for my own style, such as pairing boxy tops with fitted trousers and tucking the top in for a sleek look.
