My mom is one of the hardest people on the planet to buy gifts for. I have to give her credit because she cares more about sentimental things than having “stuff”, but I still always find it challenging figuring out what to give her. And, even though she tries so hard to be polite and hide it, you can always tell when she’s not crazy about something. This Christmas, my sisters and I even started a tradition of buying her one really awful gift just to see her reaction… We’re either awful or awesome, I’ll let you decide, haha.

All jokes aside, I do want my mom to know how much I appreciate everything she does for my sisters and me. I was fortunate enough to partner with Yankee Candle for an Instagram post, but I loved the candle [c/o] so much that I also bought one for my grandma and wanted to share them with you Gems in a blog post since Mother’s Day is right around the corner! You can put any horizontal photo on the candle (I used a few from our Disney vacation last summer), add a message, and there are a bunch of scrumptious scents to pick from. Make your own personalized candle as a Mother’s Day gift here! The idea of something customized just brings so much more thought and heart into any gift.
I think this necklace that you can personalize with a fingerprint is just the sweetest idea. Also in the accessories department are these lovely birthstone wrap rings with kids’ names on them, or the always timeless initiate necklaces. I’m also completely obsessed with these overly trendy, but totally necessary floppy sun hats that you can personalize – great for beach and pool season coming up! For a more functional gift, help the mom in your life stay hydrated with one of these adorable tumblers or stainless steel water bottles (the fonts that both of the linked brands use are so cute!). Or, if you’re looking for something that’s useable but still has a little bit of humor, this witty candle is the way to go (and is probably accurate, wink wink). Last but not least, paper bouquets are a gorgeous gift idea for a long lasting version of mom’s favorite flowers!
Personalized gifts sometimes do take some extra time to arrive. However, it’s worth going the extra mile for something extra special. Order a customized gift today instead of waiting for the last minute and grabbing something generic!
