A few weeks ago, I was sitting at my therapy appointment in frustration. I was telling my therapist about how I already do all of these things to “take care” of myself – yoga, running, meditating (occasionally), self-reflection, attempting to be more social, I shower every day, paint my nails when I want to, enjoy the occasional face mask, etc. I said to her, “I’m already dedicating time and space to all of these “self-care” things and it doesn’t seem like they’re cutting it”.
With such a level head, her response was, “Well, you’re going through more now. What worked before isn’t going to work now, and you’re going to have to find new things.”
That stressed me out even more because there are only so many hours in the day!
Instead of sticking within that stress, I’ve challenged myself to find more spots in my life where I can make small, minimal additions and changes to better take care of me. One of those adjustments has been adding a multivitamin to my morning routine, and I’ve entrusted Ritual [c/o] – a simple, effective multivitamin backed by real science – for the job.
5 Reasons You Need to try Ritual Vitamins
1.) More Energy
I didn’t really expect to feel any different since taking vitamins is a long-term strategy and not something you can easily see immediate results from, but, I have to say, I did notice a boost in my energy after just 2 or so weeks of taking Ritual every day. I’m sure of this because my mom’s a doctor and when she’s working overnight shifts, my life normally gets turned up-side-down. I go over to stay with my sisters, and a few nights away from my own bed (when it’s not in a vacation setting) takes a lot out of me. Last week was one of those weeks, and I was so surprised to realize half way through that I didn’t feel as defeated and exhausted as usual, which I attribute to my new vitamin regimen.
2.) Less to Think About
Ritual is a subscription service (only $30/month!), so once you sign up, you never have to remember to replenish your vitamin supply again!
3.) Minty Fresh
One of the main reasons I haven’t been able to get on board with taking a multivitamin before is I hate the aftertaste that lingers with most of them. Ritual Vitamins are subtly minty, so your throat stays clear of the gross minerally or fishy smell that comes with other vitamins.
4.) No Upset Stomach
These are the only vitamins I’ve ever been able to take on an empty stomach. The intentionally designed, Instagram-worthy capsule is delayed-release, so it bypasses your belly and doesn’t dissolve until it’s in your intestines – which is better for nutrient absorption and reducing vitamin-related nausea.
5.) Traceability
Ritual was founded by Katerina Schneider, who turned her house upside down when she was pregnant swapping out products in favor of those with ingredients she could get behind. When she realized that she couldn’t find a suitable prenatal vitamin – and that most multivitamins had the same potentially harmful ingredients she was avidly trying to avoid in her house – she decided to build a brand of her own. Ritual contains only nine essential ingredients that were selected based off what’s missing most out of our diets. Most vitamins have tons of nutrients that we’re already getting enough of in our food and don’t actually need to consume more of. You can learn everything you need to know about each ingredient right on the Ritual website. You’ll find details like the manufacturer, how it works with the other nutrients in the capsule, and even exactly where it’s coming from!
I believe in the power of vitamins and supplements, but I’ve been missing out on their benefits simply because it’s such a saturated market and I haven’t had time to do enough research on what I need to be taking and what’s best from me. On my first glance at the Ritual website, I was impressed with the level of transparency the brand leads with. In my opinion, they’re doing everything they can to build genuine trust with consumers, and that matters a lot to me! Now, I’m even happier to say that the product lived up to my expectations.
