In This Post: If you’re trying to figure out where to stay in Savannah, Georgia, let me introduce you to the Southern hospitality at Presidents’ Quarters Inn. (This post is in partnership with Presidents’ Quarters Inn. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own)
Halfway through my big June road trip with my sister and baby niece, our 10-day adventure was already flying by. We embarked from coastal Charleston to our third city, Savannah, Georgia. You can find an itinerary from our short Savannah trip in this post as today I’m focusing on the delightful bed and breakfast we stayed at, Presidents’ Quarters Inn!
Following a slightly stressful car ride, I instantly started to relax as we walked up to Presidents’ Quarters Inn. I slowed my usual rushed paced down to take in the enchanting, peaceful courtyard. Honestly, It was hard to believe we were in the heart of a major city. We wandered through lush ivy covered walls and well-manicured pots of flowers before walking through the door upon which we were greeted with warm smiles, mentions of The Inn’s unique homey touches (like evening sherry), and a tour of our remarkably clean room.

Awarded the “Best B&B in Savannah” for six consecutive years by Savannah Magazine and featured several times by Southern Living, The Inn itself has 16 historically decorated guest rooms which are all named after U.S. Presidents (read more about The Inn’s historical background here). We had the pleasure of staying in the George Washington Suite which is a two floor loft-style room with a king bed, mini-fridge, and two bathrooms – one is a half bath and the other is a full. This would be the perfect room for a longer stay or if you’re traveling with family. We really loved being able to spread out! I kept most of our belongings downstairs which was also nice because it wasn’t cluttering the bed area as it does in most hotels. Each evening, fresh-baked sweets were left at our door (the sugar cookies were amazinggggg!), and every morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast.
I had been dreaming about and planning our time in Charleston for months, but I added Savannah onto the trip later in the game due to everyone who kept suggesting I visit the city. Since I didn’t get a chance to do a lot of researching, I was so grateful for Dan, the Inn’s Evening Manager, who took so much time explaining the area to me, answering my questions, and sharing all of his recommendations.
Not thrilled about tackling the heat to explore, my sister professed to me that her favorite pair of traveling is getting to sleep in different hotel beds. That being said, we took it a little easier in Savannah than in the other cities. I’m an explorer at heart, but even I was okay with relaxing a bit more (aka catching up on work) because I felt like I was still experiencing the unique atmosphere of Savannah even from our room! While The Inn features up to date accommodations there were antique furnishings around every corner and many other historical touches that made it feel like someplace sincerely special.
Aside from comfy beds, signature gourmet breakfast, and sweet treats, other notable features of Presidents’ Quarters Inn include free parking, wonderful smelling soap (my sister couldn’t stop raving about it), a convenient location in the historic district of Savannah (its a walkable distance from almost any spot you’re looking to visit), and while the atmosphere isn’t catered to kids, The Inn welcomes families and children! A few rooms even have private balconies overlooking the gorgeous courtyard and there are some pet-friendly rooms, too. I don’t know how we managed to miss it both nights, but The Inn hosts a happy hour of h’orderves and wine each evening from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. They even have a really great, informative blog with tons of easy to find information on it to help you plan your Savannah trip. Overall, I truly appreciate how Presidents’ Quarters Inn isn’t just a place to sleep. The staff has truly thought about ways, big and small, to help each guest experience Savannah to its fullest potential and I love that!
