From wide leg and cropped styles to classy elegant full length pieces, we’re tackling what shoes look best with a jumpsuit! | Photos by Alex Barone and myself
It’s no secret that jumpsuits are one of my favorite pieces to style. Whether it’s casually for running errands, something dressier for a night out, or a comfy option for around the house, I wear a jumpsuit at least once a week! Since I post about wearing jumpsuits casually all the time, I often get asked, “what shoes should you wear with a jumpsuit?”. So, I’m mapping the answers out in this post! Feel free to DM me on Instagram with any questions!
From sneakers to sandals and heels to mules, there really is no limit to what shoes look best with a jumpsuit. Yes, you can even wear booties with a jumpsuit (more on that to come)!

The best shoes to wear with a wide leg jumpsuit
Wide leg jumpsuits are having such a moment because of their ease and elegance. On the left below, I’ve paired a plum purple jumpsuit with comfortable espadrilles and on the right, a cropped wide leg jumpsuit with block heel sandals.
If you’re searching for shoes to wear with cropped jumpsuits in the fall, try ankle booties. I recommend an ankle bootie that’s somewhat close to the color of your skin (here’s an example) like this beige option. Cropped wide leg jumpsuits can also be worn with cute sneakers (see below), or simple block heeled sandals.
Wearing a jumpsuit with sneakers
Here’s an example of a jumpsuit with sneakers outfit
Pairing sneakers with a jumpsuit has become one of my go-to outfits ever since I started watching my niece during the day since I’m often chasing her around. It’s the perfect way to achieve a cute but practical outfit. I find that simple sneakers in a hue closer to the color of my skin tone offer a leg-lengthening effect. For example, black or navy sneakers make my muscular legs look shorter while a blush or tan sneaker ends up looking much more flattering. Sneakers pair well with wide leg cropped jumpsuits, and also long jumpsuits (like when I styled my Rochelle knit jumpsuit from Stitch Fix with sneakers in this post).
Styling a jumpsuit with boots
As previously mentioned, don’t be afraid to try ankle boots with a wide leg cropped jumpsuit. For an edgier take on a jumpsuit outfit, tuck a utility looking jumpsuit into a combat boot or lace up boot that hits mid calf.
Pairing a jumpsuit with espadrilles
I’ll take any excuse to pull out my espadrilles. Espadrilles are so comfortable and they’re a shoe I don’t mind wearing all day long or when I have a lot of walking to do. Wide leg cropped jumpsuits (especially higher cropped styles) look so cute in the summertime with espadrilles. My favorite espadrille wedges are from Castaner because they’re so comfortable. Also, check out this blogger’s cropped jumpsuit with espadrille wedges look for inspiration.
I also often pair espadrilles with my full length jumpsuits! With a dressier jumpsuit, this still a more formal look while optimizing a comfortable shoe choice. Styling espadrilles with the deep plum colored jumpsuit in the look below makes for a look that merges the best of fall and winter fashion that’s perfect for those weeks in between.
Shoes to wear with rompers
While rompers give a totally different look than jumpsuits, the approach to styling them can take the same route! For an on-the-go, everyday look, pair a romper with sneakers. If you’re going for an elevated look, opt for a block heel sandal for an outfit that matches the laid back tone of a romper while also elevating your outfit.
