Earlier this year, I made the bold statement that my Spanx black pants are the best leggings to wear as pants. Now that I’ve spent quite a few months with the Perfect Black Pant (Ankle 4-Pocket edition) as a signature staple in my wardrobe, I wanted to offer a more in-depth opinion on how I feel about them.

My Review of Spanx Black Pants:
Unsurprisingly, my Spanx Perfect Black Pants are still 1,000% amazing and one of the best things that I’ve ever purchased. EVER. All of the other Spanx pants reviews out there claiming that these are the best skinny pants for work and life are completely accurate. I’m wearing and reviewing the Ankle 4-Pocket version of The Perfect Black Pant from Spanx in this post. The thing that makes these the best black ponte pants is that they’re a marriage between pants and leggings. So, they feature the stretch and comfort level of leggings with the formality and elegance of black dress pants (sounds magical, right?). This incredible ability is all thanks to the high-quality ponte fabric used to create them (chatting about what ponte pants are here). Truthfully, calling them “pants” doesn’t even seem accurate because they are so ridiculously comfortable.
Fit notes: For fit reference, I’m wearing a small and they are tight but not too tight. I probably could have gotten away with a medium as well which I foresee probably would still have offered a great fit that would have been a bit less compressive.

As far as my Spanx 4 pocket pants review goes, not only do these feel like leggings and look like dress pants, but they’ve held up perfectly, too. I’ve washed them so many times and they don’t look faded one bit. Plus, not only do they maintain their structure during the day, but they have upheld their form-fitting integrity over time as well. And, as I mentioned in my previous post about these ponte legging-like pants, they’re perfect for traveling because they never, ever wrinkle. I love that these have functional back pockets, which makes them even more practical.
