We came across Sharkblock, an Abrams Block Book today and it’s one of the best toddler books I’ve ever seen. It kept my niece busy forever!

You Need to Know About This Toddler Book
Today, my two year old niece and I headed to HomeGoods today in search of curtains. As we took a stroll past the kids’ section, she yelled, “Shark Book!!!!”. I turned around to see an adorable, blue book titled “Sharkblock“. Not only did she spend the rest of our time in the store flipping through the book, but it captivated her in the car ride to our next stop (another HomeGoods, haha) and then again on our hour drive home. When we made it back, she was so excited to sit down and flip through it together. It was then that I realized just how wonderful and well thought-out this book was. What a great purchase!
Sharkblock Review
Perfect for Littles Ages 1-3
As soon as I put her down for a nap, I whipped up this post because you have to know about this book series! Sharkblock was such an awesome toddler book to come across because it’s thick and has a ton of pages (so it takes her awhile to flip through). The pages are sturdy cardboard with vibrant and detailed (in a kid friendly way) imagery which gives her a lot to look at and take in. Plus, there are cut outs and flip pieces to make it even more interactive. There are a few words on each page which offer educational details about the scene and give me the opportunity to read to her. There are more themes, too (scroll down for the full list)!
The Abrams Block Book Collection:
As I was looking online to see where else this book could be purchased, I was delighted to realize that there are a ton of other block books by Abrams Books including Dinoblock (which she is already asking me for since there’s a tiny photo of it on the back of Sharkblock), Countablock (which focuses on numbers), and Farmblock. There’s even a Disneyblock, Marvel Alphablock (which covers “the Marvel Universe from A to Z”) and Star Wars Block (with “Over 100 Words Every Fan Should Know”). You can also preorder the next book in the series, Sesame Street Countablock.
