In This Post: Garden green pants and a soft rose colored sweater make an easy casual outfit for both work and weekends inspired by the changes of the Spring season.
The Look: LOFT Pants | Aerie Sweater | Me Too Ballet Flat (also in pink)

As I’m sitting down to write this post, I can see the tiniest little red buds on the branches of the tree that sits just outside of my office. It has looked so bare and lifeless for the past few months each time I glanced out the window. Like that tree, I can feel all the magic of Spring starting to bring me back to life. Over the past week, I’ve enjoyed multiple runs outside, photographed a bunch of mini sessions outdoors (photographing moments for other people has been bringing me SO much joy), and dreamed of all the ways I’m going to be styling my favorite pieces for the coming season.
Speaking of outfits, it seems like I have a habit of mixing dusty greens and blush pinks for my initial stepping into Spring looks given that I kicked off the season last year with an outfit in the same color palette. After the deep hues that we gravitate towards in the winter, I just love earthy, nature-inspired pieces this time of year. Garden like greens, soft pinks, muted blues, and sandy browns tend to fill up my wardrobe for a few weeks before I start breaking out my floral prints and flowy dresses.
I recently booked my photographer, Alex, to take a few photos while I was getting my lashes done at Swank Hair Studio (because of course, a blog post is coming all about that experience). The weather was nice enough to cooperate for us to stroll through Lawrenceville after to grab a few photos of this look against the intriguing backgrounds Butler Street has to offer.
My starting piece for this look was the tie-waist pencil pant from Loft. It was actually a light violet pair of them that originally caught my eye, but I wasn’t as crazy about how those ones looked on. I’ve styled them with my super comfortable Me Too Ballet Flats but these pants would also work with summer wedges or a loafer mule. From there, I knew I wanted something in a neutral pink to go with them! This chenille sweater in rose from Aerie was just what I was looking for (and it also comes in 3 other colors). Not only is it great for the early days of Spring, but it will be perfect for late night strolls on the beach and adding layers for chillier summer evenings. The exaggerated side slits allow for looseness to keep it from feeling too much like a winter piece and it will also go perfect with all of the high-waisted things!
Noteworthy moments from our stroll included a delicious iced coffee from Caffè d’Amore and finding this wall that works SO well with the Gem theme of my entire life! There are so many cute small businesses that line the streets of Lawrenceville. I cannot wait for more warmer days to go and explore them!
