I went years, nearly two decades actually, without a jean jacket in my closet simply because I could never find ones that I loved! After falling head over heels with a white denim jacket earlier this year that I styled in countless outfits throughout fall and winter, I had hope that there was a perfect blue jean jacket out there for me, too. My search ended when I found an Anthropologie jean jacket for women that exceeded all of my denim jacket expectations! Keep reading for my full Pilcro Classic Denim Jacket review.

A classic denim jacket

In today’s world of oversized styles and boyfriend cuts, sometimes (okay, a lot of time) I just crave a classic, tailored look! The Pilcro and the Letterpress jean jacket captures that with its flattering fit, practical stretchy fabric, thoughtful details, and classic blue denim wash. The timeless look of this women’s denim jacket along with its high-quality construction makes it a must-have wardrobe staple. Not to mention the fact that you can style it in literally any season.

Always in love with a stretch denim jacket

The other women’s denim jacket I have is super stretchy. I love it because it’s a thinner but still high-quality denim jacket that’s perfect for spring and summer, or even as an extra layer over thin sweaters in the fall (like how I wore it in this athleisure look). Compared to that one, this Anthropologie denim jacket is still very stretchy and comfortable (I must-have feature for me since functionality is key!) but has just a little bit more sturdiness to it. It’s generously stretchy and easy to move around in but provides a more substantial and practical second layer for cooler temperatures.

Why this jean jacket is so flattering

While this probably won’t be a cropped denim jacket on you unless you’re really tall, it does have a slightly cropped look in the back. I love, I mean LOVE, this feature because it creates such a flattering look. My figure usually gets lost in denim jackets. This classic denim jacket, however, is perfectly tailored to offer an elegant, figure-flattering look.

Pilcro and the Letterpress jean jacket sizing

In terms of the other denim jackets for women I’ve tried, this one is more fitted. I’m normally a size small and the small was perfect for me. It was snug, which is how I preferred it since I intend to wear this over thin sweaters, long sleeve tops, and dresses. But, if you normally prefer a roomier fit or if you’re going for an oversized denim jacket look, I’d recommend sizing up. Most of the reviews on the Anthropologie website do note that this runs small. The arms are a little long (another note that came up in many reviews), but the stretch fabric makes them easy to cuff – and they still look so cute that way!
