The Look:
Boyfriend jeans c/o my actual boyfriend, Shaun Novak (Express – ON SALE for $49.99), Yellow Crochet Blouse from Target (similar from MANGO – ON SALE for $17.99), Red Crystal Pyramid Necklace (c/o Passiana Jewelry – $99.00), The Touch of Nina Cork Heels (similar from Charlotte Russe – ON SALE for $30.00)
I’ve never been able to find a good pair of boyfriend jeans. Not at any mall, any boutique, or any online store. I now know that’s because the one place I should have been looking was right under my nose – my boyfriend’s closet, duh! Flying solo these days? That doesn’t mean you’re out of look – you just need to browse the men’s department instead of women’s to find your perfect, authentic boyfriend jean look!
Style Hack: use a large safety pin to pinch the rolled cuff together at the inseam. Not only does this keep the cuff intact to prevent unrolling, but it also helps taper the pant a bit to elongate legs.
I love the mix between polished and casual here… It’s the perfect outfit for relaxing after a long work week (or a step up in your style game if you’re like me and work from you couch in yoga pants most of the week).
This look started with this gorgeous pyramid necklace ($99.00) from Passiana Jewelry (a statement jewelry brand creating pieces for confident women who know who they are). Frustrated while going through my closet because I couldn’t find anything to pair this with that did the jewels justice, I haphazardly held them up against this yellow crochet blouse (recently scored on clearance at Target) and ended up LOVING the color combination. Honoring the commitment to myself to step out of my fashion comfort zone, I thought I’d try raiding my boyfriend’s closet (what would I do without you Shaun Novak?) rather than opting for my typical skinny jeans. I’m not sure how this look ranks on my list of favorites, but I don’t hate it and it was super comfy! =P
Here’s to trying to things!
