- How did Darling Be Daring start?
We like to think Darling be Daring has been in the making kinda our whole life. It is all about two girls daring to live an extraordinary life and asking our readers to join us. We both quit our big girl jobs after college and started this online magazine to improve our lives and empower the women around us to make their lives what they always imagined too! Darling be Daring isn’t just a lifestyle blog it is a lifestyle! So we had to totally commit to it and haven’t looked back since.
- Can you explain how your monthly “issues” work as a blog?
Yes, of course! We LOVE each of our topics that our covered on our site, and we feel that the best way to hit all the topics and to really get everyone inspired and ready to fully celebrate that month is to kick off the first of every month with an issue. Our issues are specific to that month and what is going on and then throughout the whole month we are posting new articles and posts to go along with our issue and to hit new relevant topics that come up, along with collaborations with other bloggers.
- Most blogs are only ran by one person, how has it been having two writers?
We actually find the fact that there are two of us to be one of our strengths! We are both good at different things and where one of us may fall short the other totally succeeds so we like to consider it a dynamic duo 😉 haha . Jolene works out of Southern California, and I (Desire’) am currently located in Portland, we do a lot of flying back and forth and have MANY phone calls but we rock it and like to call ourselves jetsetters 😉
- What’s been the biggest way you’ve grown Darling Be Daring?
Social media is heaven sent, I am sure for ANY blogger but it has helped us spread the word about our site and what we are about. Also, the blogging community itself has been SO welcoming, we meet new bloggers almost EVERYDAY and we love collaborations and taking part in bigger picture things with other talented writers. That really has been some of our biggest stepping stones- that and late nights spent brainstorming over wine…hehe taking moments to just BE CREATIVE.
- Any exciting future plans?
ALWAYS! J We are always in the works of trying to make fabulous things happen! We have some BIG trips coming that will be full of fashion and life updates. Also, some AMAZING collaborations with talented people we adore. Oh, and the holidays are Darling be Daring girls fave time of the year because we go crazy over being festive!
- What’s the best advice you have for new bloggers?
Remember why you started, remember what makes you love writing because it is full of a lot of busy days and long nights and if you forget WHY you love it and WHY you started it may seem impossible! And always always be personable with your readers- be an open book, I mean you are a blogger after all 😉
