- What made you venture in to the YouTube guru industry?
It was around five years ago, when I started watching YouTube videos where people would share their tips and tricks about beauty & fashion and many other topics. I remember watching videos from Beauty Crush and JuicyStar007 and all I would think, dream even, was to be able to create content just like them. I was young and was still finding myself, but had lots of fun making the odd video here and there on my channel. Only around two years ago someone, somehow had deleted my YouTube account and I became very demotivated. But that karma came straight back around when I decided to relaunch my brand and start making videos again. Very quickly, my equipment, editing skills and content was upgraded to a level that I was very happy with. I love making YouTube videos! I always have.
- What’s been the biggest challenge with creating YouTube videos?
To be honest, like with anything else in life, there can be good and bad things in every situation. Yes, YouTube has its good points like feedback from viewers, creative content to be proud of, the whole journey itself is very exciting. But then there can be a few things that make it more difficult like the competition, or the fact that its so time consuming, or ‘haters’. I think for me, the biggest challenge is trying to please everyone, I need to always remember that it can’t be done.
- Where do you get your inspiration?
When I first started my YouTube videos, I would get my inspiration from other you tubers. To see what’s popular on their channels, what seems like fun. After a while, I got my inspiration from what my viewers wanted to watch, I would take note of comments and see which of my videos got the most views. But now, I get my inspiration from my own life. I just live my life, and YouTube works around that, instead of the other way around. I make videos that I want to make, and that I would like to watch. That way, my viewers can get to know who I am a little better. I think that my viewers would prefer me to just be me.
- Do you have any tips for starting your own channel?
Yes. Never compare yourself to other YouTubers. Always remember they ALL started at the bottom, and everyone has a different journey. Never give up, always keep consistent. Do it for fun, be proud of your content and honestly; don’t let anything anyone ever says, make you stop doing what you love doing.
- What are your favorite kind of videos to film?
My favourite kind of videos to film are my look books! I love dressing up, and styling outfits and making silly poses! The best part is editing them, it can be time consuming but when I see the final product the feelings great!
- What does the future hold for your channel?
Who knows? My ultimate goal/dream is to be able to do Youtube full-time.
