Starting a blog unlocks a whole world of opportunity. From building a network of fellow bloggers to working with brands and companies, there are great benefits to developing your own blog. However, many find themselves stumped on how to build their blog. Insert The official Blog Guide website, a one-stop source to find information on everything from templates to working with brands.
Megan Hill, the creator behind The Blog Guide, has compiled tons of information for bloggers to utilize to create the blog of their dreams. Important legal information, such as disclaimers and copyright law, are huge topics in the blogging world and Megan has all the information that bloggers need to know.
We sat down with Megan to ask her a few questions behind her inspiration for launching The Official Blog Guide website:
1. What inspired you to start The Blog Guide?
I was working on a beauty blog for a while and I really fell in love with the whole process. I love writing the articles, designing my site, creating the graphics, etc. The problem was that I wasn’t really able to find a ton of inspiration for post ideas. As I thought about it more I realized I wasn’t really that great of a beauty blogger, but I was pretty good at everything else, especially the technical and promotional aspects. I decided to focus on what I was good at and The Blog Guide was born.
2. What feedback have you been receiving?
I’ve received a ton of great feedback from both readers and bloggers wanting to contribute to the site. I really want to be able to create an atmosphere where bloggers can share the knowledge they already have and learn a little something from someone else so I think we’re off to a great start. I’ve also tried to listen to the feedback of our readers so far and adjust our content as necessary. Hopefully, the site will keep evolving just like the blogging world does.
3. What does the future hold for your website?
Right now the plan is to continue organizing helpful articles by bloggers with all types of backgrounds to produce a well-rounded view on the blogging world. I have a full list of ideas and guest bloggers emailing me every day so I hope to continue sharing what they’ve learned with everyone. I myself am passionate about the technical side of blogging and am currently working on my second bachelor’s degree, this time in Computer Science. Eventually I hope to be able to start producing themes and templates and assisting bloggers in achieving the perfect look and design for their blog.
For those interested in blogging or who are already blogging away, checking out The official Blog Guide is a must. Packed with tons of information and useful tips, this will soon be your new favorite website on all things blogging.
