To be completely honest, I strongly considered not sharing these images. When I left the house that day, I looked adorable, but after a few hours of adventuring with Shaun, I felt like my face melted off and like WTF is my hair even doing? Side note: Ang at Elliven Spa decided to give me bangs recently, some days (when they behave) I adore them, some days (like in these photos) I really, really hate them.
I always say I’m a “wanna-be” fashion blogger because I think my motives are different from the mainstream blogging babes (many of whom I follow and adore). I’m not in this to get the most Insta-worthy #OOTD pic or have my outfits shared a million times on Pinterest. I blog because I like sharing the amazing, genuine, and unique brands that I come across every day with all of you!
A few years ago, fashion bloggers seemed so real and genuine. But now I often feel like blogging has evolved into the new magazine – and not always in a good way. Often when I’m scrolling through my social media feeds I feel just like I’m still flipping through a magazine of photoshopped, 10 feet beyond perfection women who might as well be models. Like come on, you have to have a bad day hair every once in awhile – you’re human. That’s what I want to see from bloggers, human beings.
So, nightmare bangs and all, here’s a flirty flowery favorite summer outfit of mine!
