In This Post: Fashion this season is all about function, and these wide-leg striped pants from Onia are both gorgeous and functional for any summer occasion!

One of the reasons I love summer fashion so much is because there’s much more of an emphasis on functionality. I get so excited whenever I find pieces that I can look cute and play around in, like with this easy summer look I wore for a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo (more about our day coming in a “He Said, She Said” post very soon!).
When I saw these green wide-leg pants, I instantly imagined all the places I could wear them (theoretically) to – playing at the boardwalk, throwing them on over my bathing suit to walk to the beach, or out for dinner at the end of a summer day. They’re perfect for an easy chic look for any low-key summer occasion! The loose fit and drawstring make them extra comfy. Here, I’ve paired them with an asymmetric white blouse from the clearance section at Target (similar here), and simple gold sandals (similar here).
I’ve been trying to step out of my comfort zone more when it comes to fashion, and these wide-leg micro striped pants from Onia were definitely a stride in that direction. I got them for $17 at TJ MAXX, but I was able to find the same ones (the “Chloe” pant) in different prints like these ones with soft metallic strips, this indigo blue pair, this pair with white and navy stripes, and these fun blue ones with a cute tropical print. I’ve also found a bunch of wide-leg pants for every budget below:
A word of caution, these pants are kind of transparent. I didn’t realize that in the dressing room. I put these on thinking I could walk right out the door, but thank goodness I noticed the bum situation before we left! I wasn’t prepared with the right undergarments, but these boy short panties from Tani did the trick for me in a pinch. Onia is primarily a swimwear brand and these are “beach pants”, so this is an understandable circumstance. After all, any other or thicker fabric wouldn’t give these the same easy, breezy feel. I still highly recommend you buy yourself a pair this season, I just also suggest you grab a pair of white and nude Spanx so that you’re prepared for these kind of situations this summer.
Onia also just released a collaboration with Danielle Bernstein inspired by vintage swimwear that’s worth taking a peek at if you’re looking for chic summer bathing suits.
