The older I get, the more and more I realize just how much the quality of my skin impacts my quality of living. When my skins looks and feels good, there’s a much better chance I’m going to feel comfortable and confident taking on whatever the day may bring.
Since each season brings with it new beauty challenges, I like to check in with the beauty products I’m using every few months to makes sure they fit my current needs. And with the chilly, drying out weather that accompanies fall, I always find my skin needs a little extra love and care. So, here are a few of the products I’ve been integrating into my routine this season.
1.) Strobe & Bronze Palette from Pixi Beauty
While I love a good bronzed, sun kissed look in the summer, I think a dash of bronzer and warm hues are even more essential in the colder months. It’s not like I get very tan in the summer, but I do notice my face looks even more washed out than usual this time of year. The problem I find with most bronzing and highlighting products is that even a little sweep is wayyyy too intense. However, I’ve found with this palette from Pixi Beauty that I can start with a light brush of color and build as needed to achieve the perfect amount of warmth and contour.
2.) pramasana™ Purifying Scalp Cleanser from Aveda
You guys. This one changed my life… well, at least the life of my hair. I don’t know about you, but there are far more days in between washing my hair during the colder months than the warmer ones. That means dry shampoo is literally my best friend. But, that dry shampoo builds up and can stick around even after washing it. This purifying scalp cleanser not only gets rid of all that build up, but it also brings my hair back to life when it’s looking a little weighed down, flat, or limp.
3.) Nimni Cream from HydroPeptide
I don’t know if it’s because my skin is dry this time of year, but I always feel like my developing wrinkles are accentuated, which reminds me that I’m getting older and also that I’m no where near where I thought I’d be at this age in my life. So, needless to say, combating wrinkles is something pretty high up on my priority list for both my skin’s sake and my sanity. But with sensitive skin, finding anti aging products that don’t irritate my skin are a challenge. I’ve been using the Nimni Cream from HydroPeptide [c/o] every other night before bed and I love what it’s done. I actually saw that lines were less noticeable in just a few uses. I do notice that my skin feels dry the next day if I don’t moisturize in the morning, but overall my skin feels fuller and the tone is more even than before. Also, do not use this under your eyes! The only thing that should ever go around your eyes is eye cream (this one is my favorite right now).
4.) Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Treatment
So, this one is quite interesting. The Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Treatment [c/o] comes with a liquid and a powder that you stir together to make the mask. Do you remember Floam from the 90’s? The commercials were on Nickelodeon allllll the time and it was slimy-ish with microbeads in it that you could mold into stuff? That’s what the consistency of this mask reminded me of. It felt weird. But, I stuck with it, and after – even into the following day – my face was absolutely more hydrated and had a nice glow going on. Sometimes weirdness is worth it.
