In this post: We’re so excited to share our first “He Said, She Said” fashion post! Here you’ll find how both of us (Shaun & Allyn) are styling joggers for fall and why you need at least a few pairs of them.

His Look: American Eagle jogger ($50) // American Eagle color block hoodie ($40) // Ugg Colin Sneaker (ON SALE RIGHT NOW – $84) and there’s a navy option, too!
Let me start by saying that I absolutely, 100% despise winter. Autumn… meh. It can be kinda cool at times, but I can typically never truly enjoy it for reasons I’m about to mention.
Every single year I get major winter depression, and it totally cramps my style. I literally just want to stay inside all day and be cranky. To me, autumn is just a daily reminder that cold, and snow, and ice, and slippery roads are soon to come. Therefore, I tend to spend the majority of the autumn season dreading what’s to come. HOWEVER (yes, all caps was necessary), last year I discovered a game changer! Ready for it?
Joggers. Bet you didn’t see that one coming, did you? But it’s the truth! I started noticing how many people were wearing them, and how comfy and stylish they looked, so I purchased a pair. And then another pair. And then like seven more. Allow me to justify my actions: if you’ve never put on a pair of comfortable joggers in your life, stop reading this immediately and at least go to a store to try some on. Okay, so you should be back to reading this now and thinking, “Thank you, Shaun, for making me spend money on joggers that I previously had zero intentions of buying.” You’re welcome. I just changed your life for the better. In my opinion, there is no pant more comfortable than a good pair of joggers.
Even more important than the comfort and style, joggers legitimately saved my life in a way last year (and I anticipate they’ll at least play a role in that again this year). Sounds crazy, right? And maybe it is to some of you. But, to me, putting on a pair of joggers allowed me to venture out of my house and into society, while still allowing me to wallow in my feels that accompany winter depression. Wearing them still lets me feel like a bum (not in a negative way; because they’re so damn comfy) while looking more than acceptable in public. The best of both worlds!
So, do you still really need to ask what I think the perfect pant for a lazy Sunday is? The joggers I’m wearing in these pictures are from American Eagle, and they make my legs feel like they’re chilling at a spa somewhere in the clouds. Yeah, they’re that comfy. The top also came from AE, and just felt like the cherry on top of this comfy Sunda(e)y look. ; )

Her Look: Ralph Lauren striped jogger pant (ON SALE RIGHT NOW – $60) // American Eagle v-neck t-shirt ($25) // Similar gold sneaker from Kate Spade ($85) // Drew & Co necklace ($61) and bracelet ($55)
I basically agree 100% with everything Shaun said above that 1) fall sucks and 2) you need a pair (or seven) of joggers, too, ladies!
When I first saw this Ralph Lauren pair, it was love at first sight. My first thoughts were, “I can look great and totally be lazy about it”. As much as I love fashion, I equally love being comfortable. I understand “beauty is pain” and blah blah blah, but when I’m wearing an outfit that’s itchy, uncomfortable, or doesn’t make me feel good about myself, I just can’t bring out the best version of me.
Physically being uncomfortable makes getting out of my comfort zone mentally and emotionally (in the land of business and dream chasing) a thousand times harder. It’s important to me that each day I’m pushing past my own limits and making every attempt I can to break the barriers of what I’m capable of. Comfy clothes, like these joggers, that don’t compromise on-trend, fashionable elements help me do just that! The America Eagle v-neck t-shirt I’m wearing is super soft and dreamy, too.
So, if you’re like me and struggle between wanting to wear yoga pants every day but also wanting to show off your style (and you want to look like you’re not a bum with the least amount of effort), joggers are your long lost lover. The right pair (I’ve included a few other options below) will make you feel like you put effort into your appearance without really having to do anything extra.
I also have another look I’ll be posting shortly where I dress these same pants up with heels and a blazer, and not to toot by own horn, but I’m SO in love with how the outfit turned out (you can catch a glimpse on Instagram). Stay tuned!
