Leanne Marshall is hands-down one of my favorite fashion designers. She does have quite an impressive and inspiring back story that began at a very young age (fun fact – did you know her first line was previously called “Leanimal”?), but I’ve fallen head over heels for this Gem because of the stories she tells – through fashion!
This season, like with each of her shows, the eye-catching plot line of looks was defined by purposeful pivots and elegant drama. First, moody navy numbers strutted down the runway, followed by lusting flowy skirts paired with structured tops. Waved cutouts made way for an earthy color palette that highlighted oversized jackets and edgy workwear.
Building anticipation to her sought after formalwear, striking metallic bronze looks delivered detailed embellishments and Leanne Marshall’s signature silk chiffon silhouettes. At the runway’s height, one jaw dropping gown after another captivated the audience’s attention. And yes, her gowns are always flowy, flattering, and what fashion dreams are made of, but this season’s garments were unexpected in the best way (and each piece was crafted sustainably!).
I especially adored the line up of cyan gowns where the waved and scalloped structures continued. This particular handful of blue dresses brought my soul back to the comfort and beauty of lingering by the edge of the ocean.
From fitted silhouettes and voluptuous gowns to relaxed trousers and organic cotton outerwear, I could effortlessly dream about all the places in my life I could integrate this collection. On a journey where “flaunting the beauty of every body” is top priority, models of all different shapes, sizes, and colors gracefully showed Leanne Marshall’s designs can support every women’s unique story and style.
