Meet The Kid Entrepreneurs Who Are Making A Difference!

A little over a year ago I received an email from a woman who owned an online based kids sock company out of Miami, Florida. This was an incredibly busy time for me, but, although I didn’t think I had the time to adequately spend on a new client, I hate to overlook any potential client inquiries. Especially, a referral from a previous client. Anyway, I took a quick peek and learned a little bit about Are You Kidding Co., the kids sock start-up that was run by two kid entrepreneurs, Brandon and Sebastian, with help from their mom, Rachel Martinez.

I know what you’re thinking. Kids can’t run a company. Well, you are partially right- kids can’t run a company on their own if they are still in school full time and well, under the age of 10. These kids have been designing all of the socks for Are You Kidding Co. since they were about 6 and 8 years old. They started selling them retail online and teaming up with foundations such as American Cancer and Live Like Bella (Pediatric Cancer).

How could I turn down an opportunity to help bring this company and these amazing people to marketing heaven? I couldn’t and I didn’t.

Fast-forward a year. The Are You Kidding boys have been on Good Morning America’s Shark Tank Your Life with Daymond John, on the cover of The Miami Herald, NBC’s 6 in the Mix, Telemundo, Univision, CNN, CNBC, and several other media outlets. They are also selling socks for a cause daily online and in several locations throughout the U.S.

The new mission of Are You Kidding Co. is Helping Kids Help Others, and it starts with Sebastian, CEO, and Brandon, Director of Sales, with their Virtual Sock Hop campaign! Yes, just like those sock hops you had in school where everyone dances around in their socks! Are these the coolest kids ever or what?

The #virtualsockhop happens on September 25th and the more they sell, the more they can help support pediatric cancer and the Live Like Bella Foundation.

If you would like to participate in this amazing event, you can purchase your socks at www.livelikebella.org. I’ll be kicking off my shoes in support of Sebastian, Brandon and pediatric cancer and I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing!
