Meet the Mott & Bow Brand
Finally, premium denim for a reasonable price
If you’re looking for a great place to buy jeans online, look no further than Mott & Bow. You might remember from last fall, but jeans are a relatively new integration into my wardrobe because I can never find ones that fit my shape. I have a system in place for finding jeans that fit perfectly and I have a few trusted brands I go to, but I rarely venture outside of that (as I always regret it). Once I began reading Mott & Bow reviews, I got very excited because I found lots of positive comments on the fit and quality. The brand sent my husband and I a few pieces to try and we are officially hooked!
Mott & Bow has been working on developing the most comfortable jeans for 38 years. So, when it comes to denim, the brand knows their stuff. There’s a lot of intention and technology behind their denim process. Every pair is handcrafted jeans, which you’d never guess from the price!

Mott & Bow Womens Jeans Review
The Oliver Mom Jean
Fit: Awesome, but does stretch out – size down
Fabrication: 99% Cotton; 1% Elastane
Rise: High (10.25″)
First of all, if you’re a mom jeans kind of person, buy the Mom Olive Jean right now. These jeans are flexible, so be advised that you’re not getting the same rigidness as an 100% cotton jean. They also don’t fall in the “buttery soft” denim category. Instead, they are the perfect balance of structured with a bit of stretch. As someone who chases around a toddler most days, I appreciated that these weren’t a rigid pair of denim.
I would describe the Mom Oliver jean as a heavier weight jean. If you’re looking for a medium weight pair for denim consider the Mom Ridge jean that comes in a medium grey wash or the Mom Allen jean that comes in both dark grey and black.
When I first put them on, I was blown away by the fit. I have thicker thighs and a muscular shape, so jeans are tough. These formed to my shape wonderfully. However, they did stretch out throughout the day and I regret not going down a size (which you should almost always do with any pair of denim for a better fit as you break them in). These jeans are comfortable enough to be worn for laid back, casual occasions, but classy and sophisticated enough for a dressier day, too. Versatile jeans are the best kind of denim!
I know that there are other styles to choose from, but I think these really are the best Mott and Bow jeans because they’ve done such a great job at perfecting the Mom jean.
I got my husband’s thoughts on these mom jeans, too!
From Shaun: I very rarely get to see Allyn in jeans, but, after seeing her in this pair from Mott & Bow, I’d like to see it happen more often! They were form-fitting while also maintaining a relaxed, mobile appearance. All of the parts you’d like to have accentuated were, but not in an unnatural way. The dark wash along with the fabric gave these jeans a unique, but not over-the-top presentation, making them great for all occasions. To top the outfit off, Allyn sported a long sleeve black v-neck shirt that I absolutely loved. This was another uncommon article of clothing to see her in, but I’d like to see it enter the wardrobe rotation more frequently. It looked super comfortable, but, again, can be a versatile piece. The color and style gave the shirt a combined classy and casual presence, which is not an easy feat to accomplish.
Mott & Bow Mens Jeans Review
Ever since Shaun discovered the joy of joggers a few years ago, I don’t see him often in jeans. I can’t blame him because joggers are the best, but I did enjoy seeing him in this look. I’m especially proud of how he styled this pair of burgundy jeans with a pair of burgundy sneakers to create classic, monochrome look on the bottom half of his outfit. Colored denim always offers an unexpected, elevated look and I loved how he looked in this casual but put-together outfit.
The v neck t-shirt he looks quite handsome in is probably something I’ll sneak for my own use now and then because it’s SO soft! I never want to feel like I’m making him wear something just for the sake of my blog, haha. After seeing him in these jeans a few times now, I can tell he doesn’t mind wearing them one bit. Here are his thoughts on them:
From the man himself:
From Shaun: I’ll start by saying that I am extremely particular about the way I like my jeans to fit, so I really didn’t know what to expect from a pair of jeans coming from a company I’d never tried on before. I’m happy to report that Mott & Bow seemingly designed these jeans with me specifically in mind, because they’re probably the most comfortable pair of jeans I’ve ever put on.
When I pick out a pair of jeans, I need them to be flexible and not hinder my mobility, because I like to stay active at all times, and I never know when I’m going to feel like doing some amateur, mediocre parkour. With this pair of mens denim from Mott & Bow, I felt like I could easily do a split jump… if I was capable of doing such a thing. I’ve also been known to gravitate toward unconventional shades of jeans, so this maroon color was right up my ally. If I’m ever asked to recommend a pair of jeans to a friend in the future, Mott & Bow will be the first brand that comes out of my mouth.
Mott and Bow Jeans Sizing
I have so much respect for Mott & Bow because they’ve left both positive and negative reviews from customers up on their website. I think this information really helps shoppers make more informed purchased and is an important level of transparency.
For our Mott and Bow jeans review, Shaun found is jeans to be true to size, while I found that I could have gone down at least one size in the Mom Oliver Jeans.
In general, other Mott and Bow Jean reviews I came across a number of them from women who tried two sizes and sent back the larger one. So, I’m not the only one who thinks sizing down is in your best interest! I did find some comments that mentioned the sizing isn’t consistent from style to style. That being said, be sure to read the reviews for the specific pair that you’re considering to make the best choice.

Mott and Bow T-Shirts Review
Long Sleeve V-Neck Womens Tee Marcy in Black
The long sleeve t-shirt I’m wearing is another fall essential I’m glad I added to my wardrobe this season. It’s clear that it’s a high quality shirt, while the material remains thin, lightweight, and breathable. It still gets pretty warm where we live during the afternoon, so it’s a great option to wear on its own now. As it cools down, I’ll use it as a base when created layered looks. It’s composed 50% of pima cotton so it’s incredibly soft. I love pairing it with joggers or yoga pants, too, because it’s comfortable enough to lounge around in. I’ve washed it a bunch of times already and so far the black hasn’t faded at all, which is so great!
Fit Notes: I’m wearing a medium and it’s not fitted, but there’s also not a lot of excess fabric. So, if you prefer a loose or oversized look, be sure to size up at least one size.
Classic V-Neck Mens Tee Driggs in Dark Grey
From Shaun: As for my t-shirt, this is another area where I have a very distinct idea of how I want that piece of clothing to look and feel. I basically exclusively wear v-necks these days, so I was elated that Mott & Bow had that option to choose from. From the minute I removed the Classic V-Neck Driggs tee from the bag it came in, I knew I was going to love it. The fabric was soft and cozy, while also being satisfyingly pliable and unrestrictive. There really isn’t a color of v-neck that I won’t wear, but this particular shade of grey was great, because I have had a difficult time finding a shirt in this color that I felt comfortable in. Much like the other articles of clothing we received from Mott & Bow, I would feel comfortable wearing this shirt in just about any scenario.
Fit Notes: Shaun is wearing a small and it has a relaxed fit. If you prefer a more fitted look, try sizing down. It is 100% cotton but pre-shrunk.
