Meet Body Bijou – edgy and elegant jewelry handcrafted by fifteen year old Linda Manziaris in Canada. This young entrepreneur decided to combine her passion for jewelry design with a desire to help young women to create an online jewelry destination with a mission to make a difference.
Partnering with her sister Susanna Manziaris, 50% of net profits from Linda’s jewelry are donated to Girls Helping Girls, a not-for-profit that helps girls in need attend school and reach for a better future. Linda and Susanna’s desire to help vulnerable young women ignited during a family volunteer trip to Kenya where they experienced first hand the challenges and struggles of young girls in the developing world. While in Kenya, they learned that if you educate a girl, you educate a family and a community as a whole and the cycle of poverty can begin to break. Education helps girls reach for a better and safer life. I’m so moved by the mission of these two incredible young ladies to help raise the global status of women one girl at a time.
