Out of all the Deep Creek lodging options, the Red Barn Inn (formerly North Glade Inn) has my vote as the best place to stay in Deep Creek, Maryland. Keep reading for my Red Barn Inn review.
The Best Place to Stay in Deep Creek Maryland
It was no easy feat trying to pick a last-minute spot to escape to last weekend. As soon as I came across the Red Barn Inn, I knew it had everything I was looking for – a calming view, unique charm, and well-decorated rooms. I wanted somewhere that felt like an escape without ever having the leave the property. I was also looking for an elevated atmosphere that felt special compared to my day-to-day surroundings. I found exactly what I was looking for at the Red Barn Inn!
A calming and clean choice for any Deep Creek Lake vacation
Every inch of the 10 bedroom inn was immaculately clean and equally as cozy. It’s just a short walk away from Deep Creek Lake, but you also get the serenity of a waterfront property with the pond that sits out front. I spent my time at the inn alternating between wondering the property (camera in hand, of course!) and working from the dreamy front porch. It was so serene to look up from my laptop to take in the gorgeous views.
Lori was the best kind of host! We had a great conversation when I arrived, she offered helpful recommendations for everything I was looking for, and then gave me space to soak in all of the peace and quiet that I had been craving.
Bed & Breakfast like charm
The interior is just as impressive. After walking in the welcoming red door, there’s a huge gathering space with numerous rustically chic lounge areas. Guests can also utilize the common kitchen and lengthy dining table for meals. While breakfast isn’t included, I do think the Red Barn Inn is worth considering if you’re looking for a Deep Creek Lake bed and breakfast. You’ll find that the property certainly has the charm and distinctiveness of a B&B. Plus, if you don’t grab donuts at Casselman Bakery and Café, you’ll regret having anything else for breakfast – they’re that good!
Professionally decorated rooms
Each room and space is professionally decorated through the inn’s sister company, Cloth & Case (you can even purchase any of the furniture for your own home!). There are just enough decorative elements to keep your eyes impressed and intrigued around every corner but not enough to feel overwhelmed. The interior of the inn has just been renovated and they’re continuing to makeover the outside with features like a garden and wedding pavilion coming soon! However, the history of the barn dates back to somewhere in the 1800s. I’m already considering dates for a second trip in a few months. I cannot wait to see the inn’s progress and to enjoy it during the fall season!
An unforgettable Deep Creek Lake wedding venue
There’s more to the Red Barn Inn than a charming Deep Creek lodging experience. Red Barn Inn & Events offers a place to stay, a stunning Deep Creek Maryland wedding venue, and soon a vacation home right on the property (after renovations are complete on the stone house that you can see in some of these pictures). I didn’t get a chance to explore the inside of the barn, but from the care that has gone into the rest of the property, I’m certain it makes for a remarkable wedding ceremony and reception option.
Perfect for a Deep Creek Lake romantic getaway
Since most accommodations near the area are homes, Deep Creek Lake rentals for couples are hard to come by when you’re looking for something for just one or two people. This makes the Red Barn Inn a great choice for a Deep Creek Lake romantic getaway or even a solo trip. Enjoy the stunning scenery by picnicking near the pond or sipping wine on the porch!
How far is Deep Creek from Pittsburgh?
Deep Creek Maryland is just a little more than a 2-hour drive from Pittsburgh which makes it a completely reasonable destination to escape to for the weekend or a quick getaway.
