Every Sunday, I stop by to share with you a few raw and real stories from my week in The Sunday Edit. Stories where I edited struggles into strengths and found Gem moments when shining seemed impossible. In a world where everyone filters what they share online, I want you to see you’re not alone and I want to inspire you to have more good days. You’ll also find what products have been making my life easier, what new Gem finds I’ve come across, and the best sales going on right now!

Life Update & Thoughts:
Whoops. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a Sunday Edit, so if you’re reading this, I appreciate you!
First of all, my first thought is, “how the heck is it September already?!”. The high today in Pittsburgh was 73 degrees and I’m not ready for that fall life!
I talked about this in my last post, but overall I’m just feeling this overall sense of being uncomfortable with all the changes that have happened in my life and everything I need to figure out in the next couple of months (like moving – do I stay here? Do I finally head somewhere warm? I just don’t know!). All of the sudden, everything is just different (because of a break up that resulted in the shifting of many other life components). Change is great, but it’s also so uncomfortable. So, that’s what I’m working through at the moment. I’m extremely grateful that I decided to go back to therapy a few months ago because without my therapist, I would be a complete mess (I’m just like half a mess right now, I’d day) trying to navigate through all of these transitions completely alone. At our last session, she reminded me there’s nothing wrong with experience and accepting that discomfort – not all unfavorable sensations need a solution or a fix, sometimes we just need to plant our feet in them and stick it out.
However, I’m going to Ghana at the end of the month and I am SO excited for the trip. I’m finding a lot of joy in getting ready for that. I can’t wait for the photos I’ll be able to capture on I’ll get to see Tidal Cool on the runway at Accra Fashion Week!
Shines:
- I’ve got to have some much needed alone time at home this weekend. I’ve been running around nonstop some having down time where I didn’t have to be anywhere and I could just hangout with myself has been so rejuvenating!
- I really fell off track with my blogging schedule, but I finally feel like I’ve got my groove back! Woohoo! And, I’m not trying to toot my own horn (okay maybe I am a little though ????), but I’ve definitely been slaying my Instagram game this week.
Struggles:
- My heart’s breaking a little bit as I see most of my favorite bloggers posting photos from the streets and shows of New York Fashion Week. A few weeks ago, I had to make the tough call not to go this year. August completely snuck up on me and I had done no preparing, barely any outreach for collaborating with brands, and as much as I didn’t want to admit it, I knew chaotically trying to throw a trip together wasn’t going to be good for my current state of being (I’ve been *trying* to prioritize the whole “inner peace” thing lately).
- I hate when adulting gets in the way of my life in business. I spent so much time on the phone this week tracking down things and people that should be easy to find (like my vaccination record since I’m going out of the country and a contractor who was supposed to fix my broken front door like 6 weeks ago). Ugh!
Currently Loving:
- All of the cozy clothes at Aerie! I just shared an outfit with a sweatshirt that has the sweetest lace details (it’s 50% off today!) and a pair of leggings are the next best thing to walking around naked (40% off today!).⠀
- This song. Every time I hear it, I just want to boogie, haha!
- Ritual Multivitamins – they’re the most affordable vitamins I’ve ever tried that don’t leave a gross taste in my mouth, don’t bother my belly (even if I take them on an empty stomach), and I noticed a boost in my energy after taking them for just two weeks. I’m giving away a bottle to a lucky reader on this post and I’d love if you entered (it’s super easy!).
- I’ve been reading When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice for Difficult Times and it’s really given me a new perspective on how we approach pain and suffering and stick out hard times. It’s deep and written from a Buddhism point of view, but so worth reading if you’re going through something right now! The words that have stuck with me the most so far are, “We think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.”
Current Sales:
- All sweaters at Aerie are $30 until 9/9! The cozy number is absolutely going to give you fleece of mind for fall ;). AND, all bottoms are 40% off!
