This Week at Therapy: Trust It Will Work

An inside look on what a therapist can do to help you.

I have zero shame in sharing this with you – I love going to therapy. I look forward to my appointment every single week. I love working out my issues, getting a fresh perspective, and having someone in my corner. Therapy can be whatever you need it to be and for whatever you need it to be for. It doesn’t mean you have to dive head first into the problems your childhood created for you or figuring out why you have trust issues. Sometimes, it’s about working through overwhelm and helping you make important decisions.

In my session this week, we talked a lot about the cycle of stress I’ve been faced with over the past few years – trying to grow a business while trying to stay financially afloat while being a yoga teacher, barre instructor, big sister, girlfriend, babysitter, and friend. Oh, and attempting to take care of myself in there, too. This week’s video is about the half leaps of faith we take when we have too many things to prioritize and why that hurts us (and keeps us stuck) in the long run. That’s why, rather than fearing the consequences of sacrifice, we just need to trust certain things are going to work out. After all, how can we expect something (like a business) to flourish if we have one foot in and one foot out?

My hope is that this video helps to normalize mental health and getting help. Please help me share it so that people know therapy can be such a positive experience, and that it’s not just okay, but that it’s encouraged, to reach out for help in getting unstuck in your life.
