Many people {mistakenly} believe that only the lucky are successful. They believe that success is the perfect combination of happy circumstances coalescing into a harmony of perfection, and that it just happens to some people.
So if your life hasn’t lined up perfectly, why not just give up on your goals, right?
Definitely not.
Granted, I’m not currently successful in every measure of the word. But what I do know (that I haven’t always) is that success is out there waiting for me, and it’s waiting for you too. And trust me, there is enough success to go around. In fact, we create success ourselves. How much success you attain is directly related to the non-stop effort you put into getting it.
There is no limit to what the world can provide you with. And no limit as to what you can absorb and learn from the world to grow yourself. So, stop competing with others and start competing with yourself – this is how you will accomplish your dreams. Ask yourself: What are your dreams? What are your passions? They are unique to you, so uncover them and pursue them.
When you figure out what your goals are, start developing a variety of options on how to get there. Make Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C each a different way to achieve your dreams. Don’t give up just because Plan A didn’t go exactly as planned. Don’t give yourself another option other than to make your dreams happen. It’s not going to be easy, you might have to go all the way down to Plan M or maybe even Plan V, but the important thing to remember is the it’s always possible. We make our own opportunities.
I’m saying this from experience. Once upon a time, I thought that there wasn’t room in my small body for big goals. But I worked, and I persisted, and I realized that goals are like hammers, smashing through the barriers that your mind has constructed.
The moment you start to believe in yourself, the world will believe in you too.
Be confident – when you tell yourself that you are capable and deserving of success, success will come back to you.
