A View of Pamella Roland's Jewel Toned Fall Winter 2018 Collection

The rich and royal architecture of Prague was Pamella Roland’s inspiration for the Fall/Winter 2018 collection. The stunning and unique pieces spoke languages of their own, yet also came together beautifully as a whole. Opening the show was an ivory cashmere coat adorned with a feather collar that flowed perfectly at ease with the model’s every step. The silhouette was feminine yet strong and carried a sophisticated shape.

Throughout the show, there were vivid connections to the historic Prague buildings and landscapes. The embroidered hems and fitted tops with delicate crystal appliqués showcased the dedicated work of a skilled dressmaker. Feathers and jeweled collars were most commonly paired executing a subtle but bold combination that was beautifully presented.

My favorite ball gown had a flouncy tiered skirt with gold embroidered fabric. The crystal appliqué sheer bodice and high neckline created a romantic ensemble long with the flounce skirt.

This collection featured many jewel tones inspired by a water tour of Prague she took when visiting that created the canvas for using gold embroidery and metal elements. The looks were sleek, sophisticated, and uniquely bold. Together, they all created a statement and individually, were pieces of art. Recently, in the September 2017 issue of The Daily Front Row, Roland said, “We’re showing more beading and opulence than before. It’s not just clean lines anymore-people are having fun with fashion.” While the sleek and iconic looks stay as a signature to the brand, the more lavish pieces have a striking balance within the collection.
