VLOG 10: How Do You Plan for the Unexpected?

VLOG 10: How Do You Plan for the Unexpected?

So, I had no f*cks to give by the time we filmed this video. Not in a debbie downer kind of way, but in an embarrassing, full of imperfections kind of way that I’m sure will give you a giggle. It doesn’t get more “Instagram vs Real Life” than this week’s vlog, haha!

One little thing after another, my day was turned upside down and went nothing like I had planned. I’m not talking anything terrible, just random occurrences that chipped away at my tolerance levels one by one – like waking up with a bright red, irritated eyeball that I couldn’t put my contact into until hours later, spilling coffee all over my brand new sweater (it makes me feel so cozy and is only $27!), disorderly construction blocking the post office I needed to get to on a road where there was no where to turn around on, and accidentally breaking Shaun’s camera tripod (I’m still very sorry, babe).

I don’t like to plan for negative shit to happen, but something’s got to change. I like optimism as much as the next person, but in believing my days will run smoothly or relaxingly, it never happens. I always just end up on edge when I have days like this. But, I also don’t want to set myself up each day imagining that I’m going to have a bad day. If that makes any sense?

So, I’ve got a dilemma on my hands that I’m eager to hear your thoughts on. How do you make room for the unexpected while not expecting a crappy day?

After the fact, everything’s good around here. Shaun is a superhero for keeping his cool during all my madness. We got some truly amazing photos (I just posted a preview on Instagram!). And the bad vibes I carried around all day have been significantly reduced after a yoga class. I’m also grateful for the sunshine and nice weather we’re still having in October!

There’s a lesson in every struggle, and now that it’s over, I’m ready to strategize and figure out ways to live with less stress moving forward. Please hit me with your thoughts and wisdom in the comments section below!
