The first time I read the quote, “Be patient with yourself, nothing in nature blooms all year,” I felt an instant impression of relief. It’s hard to remember that we are more closely related to nature than superheroes or smartphones. The pressure to always be creating, to always be blooming, to always be on and never off, inhibits our growth. Every winter I feel like no matter what I try to do, growth and progress is unfeasible. I find it helpful to remind myself that progress has to have a process and growth can’t happen without some sort of cycle.
The thoughtful, unrushed process at Love & Chambray is exactly what makes the quality of their minimal, everyday jewelry so impressive. Rather than mass-producing their eye-catching bars and triangles, each piece is hand-cut, drilled, filed, and polished individually. In this look, I’ve layered the Triangle Necklace and Hailey Choker both in rose gold.
I often find that dainty jewelry like this is very fragile and I feel like I have to use extra caution when wearing it so that it doesn’t break… As much as I love pretty pieces, I do not need anything else to have to worry about! Love & Chambray necklaces, however, are made with 14k gold-filled (which is the next best thing to solid gold!), thicker-than-average sheet metal. While these two pieces still have that light, elegant feel, they’re strong and sturdy. And because of the quality, when taken care of correctly, the pieces won’t tarnish either!
Rose gold goes with everything, but because I just cannot wait for spring, I stuck with nature inspired hues for this look with an olive cold shoulder sleeve top and coppery blush duster which were both from Tobi. Earthy tones are the perfect way to start incorporating more color back into your wardrobe while we’re awaiting for the bright colors that our wardrobes will be filled with during the warmer months. By the way, the duster is now like my favorite thing in my closet because it’s so comfortable and makes me feel like I’m getting away with wearing a robe in public. I cannot wait to brainstorm more ways to style it this spring! The hunter green pants are a Target find from a longgggg time ago, but I found a similar pair for you here and here!
Before I let you go, I just want to give you a gentle reminder that beauty, grace, and momentum come when we trust the process and exercise our patience. The world moves so fast, don’t get caught up in haste. Any kind of growth that is going to stick around, the kind of growth that’s going to be sustainable, is always going to come from effort that’s slow and steady.
