I’m just going to get right to the point… Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial is honestly magic. I’ve been using it consistently for over a year and thought it was about time to do a T.L.C. Sakuri Babyfacial review! From reducing fine lines to helping to heel my acne scars, the results of using this product have yet to end. I really wish I would have thought to do Sukari Babyfacial before and after photos, but you’ll just have to take my word for it…
My Sakuri Babyfacial Review:
Based on the products I’ve had experience with, this is the closet pro-level at home facial peel on the market. One of the reasons for this is because it has a much higher AHA concentration (25%) than similar products. Drunk Elephant has been able to safely accomplish this with a thoughtful approach to developing products with a healthy pH level. Essentially, it will “knock your cells off” (as the website says) without leaving your face red and irritated for days.
T.L.C. Sakuri Babyfacial is available on the Drunk Elephant website as well as Sephora, Amazon, and JCPenney.
How to use Drunk Elephant’s Babyfacial:
Since I have pretty sensitive skin, I first tried Drunk Elephant’s Babyfacial on a small patch of skin. After only experiencing a slight tingling sensation and a bit of mild redness on the spot, I decided to go for it. The tingling does feel a little weird but subsides shortly after I put the mask on. The mask stays on for 20 minutes (you may want to start off with a shorter amount of time if your skin’s sensitivity is a concern). Then, it’s important to rinse it off thoroughly with warm water.
The package comes with a mini Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil to use immediately after the mask. This has become another one of my favorite products! I have a full-size bottle that I actually use after any face mask or peel that I use. It allows me to use some of the more harsh products that have just been sitting in my beauty drawer that initially were too irritating on my skin! After I the mask and oil, my face is a little red for about 20-30 minutes. So, I make sure to do the facial at night when I don’t have to go anywhere. The next morning, my skin is SO soft and smooth!
CAUTION: When my skin is very dry (like in the winter months, for example), I have to be much more mindful about using this product. The tingling can turn into a burning sensation that feels like it’s doing more harm than good. Plus, the redness can last a lot longer. I’ve found that during these times if I do an intensely moisturizing treatment the night before, I can still get away with using Babyfacial the following day.
What about the Drunk Elephant Babyfacial for acne?
This isn’t a product you want to use if you have active breakouts to avoid further irritating the skin. While I’m undecided on if this product improves my regular breakouts, I can confidently tell you that it has helped to fade my acne scars. They are still there and I’m not sure if they will ever heal completely. However, I do credit the decreased appearance of acne scars on my face primarily to this product! My makeup also goes on a lot smoother when I use Babyfacial every week, which helps my foundation/concealer cover up my acne scars more effectively when I’m wearing makeup.
Is Drunk Elephant Babyfacial worth it?
Drunk Elephant first gifted me this product to try over a year and a half ago. Since then, it’s become one of the few constants in my skincare routine. I’m always buying and trying out new beauty products, so it’s extremely rare for me to have a product that I just cannot live without. It’s even rarer that I’ll spend $80 on a skincare product, but I’m willing to cough it up for glamourously glowing skin. If you’ve been asking yourself “is the Drunk Elephant Babyfacial worth it?”, I’m here to tell you the answer is 100% YES! This product was largely responsible for taking Drunk Elephant from an under-the-radar brand to being a favorite among beauty enthusiasts.
The Drunk Elephant Brand
Overall, I just have so much respect for the Drunk Elephant brand. They are driven to not only help customers bare their best skin, but they’re committed to transparency and education as well. Their products aren’t “all-natural” and that’s okay because “natural” doesn’t always mean that something is good, healthy, or even safe for your skin. Drunk Elephant focuses on creating research back formulations that are both effective and safe. Dive deeper into their philosophy here!
