At The Gem, I’m all about sharing finds that help you stress less and shine more. For me personally, my shine seems to start to dull around this time of year. I don’t necessarily have a problem with fall, but it does signal that winter is coming, which I just don’t mesh well with. Right about now, is when I start to barricade myself indoors and hide under the covers.

Lately though, in this season of change and adjustment in more ways than one (more on that here and here), I have found so much peace and mental stability by spending time in nature. I’ve been hiking, going for lots of run (even if they’re short), and stepping outside every time I see a glimpse of the sunshine just to sit and soak it up for a few minutes.

I think it’s necessary that rather than cozying up inside, I make every effort I can to get outdoors this fall – especially as things start to get chillier. Since fashion is very motivating, cute, practical outfits are obviously the best way to mentally and physically prepare for colder weather and ensure that I feel capable of going outdoors.

It was seriously love at first sight when I saw Patagonia’s Re-Tool Snap-T Fleece Pullover. I knew it had to be added to my wardrobe with this beautiful smoke violet color. Then, after I tried it on, I was 100% convinced it was the quintessential pullover of the season. I’m typically a size small in pieces like this, but I did find it a little snug and sized up for a medium. That way, I can add another layer under it if needed.

The princess seams add contouring and shape to make this pullover more feminine than most and I also love that it’s made from 51% recycled fleece! I get compliments on this every single time I wear it and my response is always energetically, “IT HAS A POCKET!” because pockets are a very important factor in purchasing decisions, am I right?! I won’t be taking it off at all this fall, which means you can’t borrow it, friends, so buy your own and we can be twins.

Also featuring in this look are, there Trail Tights. I love them because they are similar enough to the fit of yoga pants to comfort me through fall while being more durable and thicker for outdoor activities. They’re outerwear but don’t look like it one bit, so they’re more than acceptable to wear in every day life, too! Perfect for hiking, running, and even taking care of errands in the chilly weather. Plus, there are pockets so that you can keep your phone and essentials on you during your fall adventures while staying hands-free and in the moment. The best part is, the waistband stays put and these will not fall off your bum!
